The monument celebrates Maria Barbieri, a famous female ballet dancer, died at the age of 62 in 1817. The sculptor is Giovanni Putti (1771 - 1847), the architect Angelo Venturoli (1749 - 1821). The theme is the allegorical representation of the theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity are around the monumental sarcophagus representing the deceased. On the left, is the Faith bringing the cross and dressed with the traditional draped robe and veil. On the right is the Hope whose gesture, figure and face reproduce the canonical style of academy neoclassicism. Finally the Charity is seat above the sarcophagus, surrendered by children. The commemorating circular medal on the basement represents the profile of the deceased.
