Note

In the nineteenth-century Funerary art, weapons were objects linked to war and to military activities, as in previous centuries. But in some cases they can simply underline generally the civil service of politicians exercised by the dead person. In the tomb weapons are a positive symbol, an instrument for peace, for order restoration and bearer of glory for the individuals and for their country. In the nineteenth-century iconography ancient weapons, which were symbols of gods and heroes from the classical age, mix together with devices and instruments of the modern war.
